Abstract
At present, most stainless steel welding pipe enterprises are using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding as a welding process. TIG welding uses the heat generated by the arc to melt the steel strip and form stainless steel welded pipes. Therefore, whether the position of the tungsten needle is accurately aligned with the weld seam is crucial to the welding quality of the stainless steel welded pipe. The molten pool outline in the weld image contains abundant welding process information. This paper presents a method of weld seam tracking based on molten pool outline, The welding deviation can be obtained by calculating the contour image moment and the concavity of each point, and the automatic recognition and tracking of the weld can be realized.
